arie Salerno
has been managing careers in broadcasting, marketing, and the creative
arts for over thirty years.
Her early executive positions with market research and advertising
firms in Chicago offered an insider's view of corporate culture
at many Fortune 500 companies. As top administrator of Chicago's
largest talent and modeling agency, she managed newscasters, talk
show hosts, TV commercial performers and other media professionals.
Ms. Salerno came to San Francisco in 1977 as a producer for the
top-rated "People are Talking" on CBS affiliate KPIX-TV.
In 1981 she moved to an executive position at AFTRA/SAG San Francisco
where, with her knowledge of contracts, collective bargaining and
union policy she represented professional performers on virtually
every type of employment issue. From 1990 to 1998 she served as
Associate Executive Director of this joint union office, which is
one of the largest in the country.
